Evelien
Meet our founder of The Farm Office, who studied Animal Husbandry in the Netherlands.
She moved to New Zealand in 2000 and founded the company in Darfield in 2001, driven by a passion to support the agricultural sector.
Outside of work Evelien keeps busy by being on the executive committees for the Institute of Certified New Zealand Bookkeepers and the Peninsula Tramping Club, walking with her dogs, gardening, tramping and horseriding.
Donna
Meet Donna, our delightfully reliable senior bookkeeper since 2021.
She takes getting everything right seriously, and she cheerfully completes her work efficiently to a very high standard.
We can all learn a thing or two from her immaculate timekeeping skills.
After work she loves catching up with children, grandchildren and friends.
Carolyn
Meet Carolyn, our bubbly, very experienced payroll specialist.
She joined the Farm Office in early 2022. She jumped right into the deep end and swam beautifully while Evelien dashed to the Netherlands for a family emergency.
Carolyn loves the outdoors, walking and tramping. She spends time supporting her son getting started in his career and has several volunteer roles in her community.
Mischa
Meet Mischa, the most loyal office companion on The Farm Office Team. She is a very golden white shepherd. Very cuddly, friendly, ball obsessed. Side hustles; being a Canine Friends Therapy Pet and cat police, no cat flights are allowed while she is on duty.
Bonnie
Meet Bonnie, half of the team's "partners in crime". She as been keeping the office free of tree crickets since 2018. Bonnie spends a lot of time being decorative in the office, where she has her own bed on the second desk.
Clyde
Meet Clyde, the other half of the "partners in crime". Clyde is very chill and very loud. If you hear meowing while on a call, it will be Clyde you are hearing.
Fenna
Meet Fenna, our newest recruit who joined us in September 2024. She has years of training ahead of her, but so far she has proven to be very entertaining and somewhat distracting
The Farm Office
The Farm Office has been helping farmers with their business finances since 2001. We started by offering training on accounting and payroll software. We've always stayed focused on assisting farmers with financial tasks, remaining approachable and friendly.
Managing finances for a large dairy farm partnership was the trigger for us to evolve into a trusted bookkeeping service. Today, we support many farms by handling their accounts and payroll. It makes sense for farmers to outsource these tasks because most don't become farmers due to a love of bookkeeping!
When you join us, we'll customise a plan for your farm. We’ll ask about your business to recommend the best software and training. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident with your system, providing you with the necessary information to make informed decisions.
We work with farmers all over New Zealand—backcountry stations, dairy farmers, farm consultants, and agricultural contractors. We enjoy our work because of the variety and long-term connections with clients.
